Jeep has heavily revised the Grand Cherokee's 4.7-liter V8 for 2008, and this popular engine is now rated at 305 horsepower -- nearly as much as the larger Hemi V8. The company has also given the cabin a much-needed refresh, adding more soft-touch surfaces, upgraded lighting and a telescoping steering wheel. Newly available features include xenon HID headlights, the MyGIG hard-drive-based audio/navigation system, a back-up camera, a rear entertainment system and Sirius Backseat TV. For buyers planning to tap into the JGC's utility, technology like hill descent control, hill start assist and trailer sway control is now offered as well. Finally, availability of the diesel V6 has been expanded to the base Laredo model.

Jeep GC Overland - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By casey24 - July 4 - 8:30 pmIve owned 1 wrangler,leased 3 GCs and 2 Libertys. I bought the Jeep Overland after comparing it with Land Rover, Benz and Audi. I was so impressed with Jeeps exterior,interior and price. I am a loyal Jeep guy and thought about the Land Rover, but the price was not worth the value. I love this truck and I am glad I stuck with Jeep. It is a head turner, very comfortable and the power is unreal. Every morning I look forward to driving to work because of the luxury and sound system and the ride. I know there is a new design out in 2011, but it will have to be drastic to get me out of this one.

loving it - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jenna77 - May 18 - 3:51 amI always wanted a SUV and we had 2 paid off vehicles so didnt really want to go buy one. Then we wrecked our truck so we decided to replace it with an SUV. Not knowing Id be getting an SUV soon I just went test driving different SUVs. Bought this because I loved the ride. Ive had it 2 years now. It had kind of high miles when I got it but I work 1 mile from home so the miles are not adding up fast anymore. I love love love it. Ive had no problems whatsoever. Does great in our Utah snow.

New Limited with Hemi - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Also drove the BMW X-3 and X- 5, the Lincoln MKX, Hummer H-3, MB ML320, and can honestly say the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited had the best ride of all. For the money, its the best value by far and you get real capability that can handle any ruggedness you may throw at it. The interior is extremely comfortable and inviting. Very happy so far.

Great Jeep for fun and towing - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Starguy - February 27 - 10:00 amI have the limited 4.7L with the towing package and air brake module. This thing pulls a 28 travel trailer like it was nothing. The trailer has the leveler bars which make it possible with this size. The motor strains some while passing up hill or really steep grades. So if you know the limits its great. Gas mileage while pulling was between 13 if you push it and 16 if you keep it around 60 to 65 mph. but straight driving highway mileage Ive gone from 18 to 25 depending on speed and wind conditions. I have everything except the 5.7 hemi and the trim package of the Overland model. The wife and I love it and are going to purchase it when the lease is up. Safety was a big factor also,solid.

The leather upgrade package and all that it includes was worth the extra money. If you like the bells and whistles, you will love the 2008 Jeep.

Best Performance SUV - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By coolbreezesd - November 18 - 9:00 pmI just traded in my 2007 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 for a 2008. Wow they made a lot of improvements for 2008. The engine and performance is astonishing. The ride quality is pretty darn good and the over all quality is great... I had almost zero issues with my 2007. If you like speed, and want the utility of an SUV this is the one for you!

2008 Jeep Laredo - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I wanted to buy American, and gave Jeep a chance based primarily on their warranty. It was a great decision. I absolutely love this car. Jeep used quality materials throughout the car, giving it a solid feel. It rides nice, and is great in the bad weather we can get in the Chicago area. The acceleration on the 6 cylinder is good, with the mileage being what I expected. I shopped for quite a while before buying this car, and looked at just about every small and mid size SUV on the market. If I had to do it all over again, I would make the same decision.

Life after Land Rovers - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By Tom2008 - August 10 - 7:23 pmHave had 3 Land Rovers (2 Disco, 1 LR3) Had almost bought a Commander before the last Land Rover. I couldnt pass up on the deals this time. Need power to pull my 22 boat and the Hemi makes you forget the boat is still there. The leather is nice, but the plastics in the interior are not as nice as Land Rover. My kids both have the old Cherokees (1999 & 2000) and still love them.

Happy - 2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee
By jose m. - August 8 - 7:00 amJust purchase our Jeep G. Cherokee after driving a J. Cherokee Classic 2000 for about 7 years. Very nice upgrade and lot of interior room compare to our old Jeep. We are very happy and so far so good in gas mileage.
